General Ladder Tips: Make sure you carry out a risk assessment before using the Ladder. A ladder should only be used for its designed purpose. Do not lay scaffold boards on the ladder rungs. The ladder is designed for 1 person to climb at any one time. It can be dangerous for a person to carry loose tools manually up or down a ladder as this restricts the persons grip on the treads. Light tools should be secured in a tool bag or tool belt before climbing the ladder. Other tools or materials can be lifted or lowered using a rope hoist. When carrying the ladder make sure the front end is above head height and the pathway is clear. Do not attempt to place the ladder on bricks - boxes or any other unstable surface to gain additional height. Do not climb any higher than the 4th rung from the top of the ladder. Never use the ladder on a slippery surface such as Ice - snow or Oils without securing the ladder.
