Product Information
Also known as Mag Drills, Magnetic Drills, and Rotabroaches, these tools have a powerful motor to drill holes in a variety of metal surfaces. The high-powered magnet base holds the drill in place which gives you accurate burr-free cutting without having to apply pressure. Used in many settings including Steel Fabrication, Welding Shops, Maintenance, and general Construction. This model is 35mm x 25mm which drills 35mm diameter holes, up to 25mm deep. It’s110V so please add a transformer if you need one. Also, you will need to add at least one cutter – these are available in a variety of sizes.

Not usually, since the cutters are designed to start drilling directly into the workpiece without the need for a pilot hole. But if you are drilling on curved or uneven surfaces it can be helpful. Add a pilot rod to your basket if needed.
The magnet force depends on the condition of the substrate, which is reduced by paint, zinc/scale coatings and rust.
Also, the substrate must be magnetic, the clamping surface and the magnetic foot must be clean and grease-free, and the surface must be completely smooth and level.
When drilling in steel of low thickness, an additional steel plate (minimum dimensions 100 x 200 x 20 mm) must be placed under the workpiece. Secure the steel plate to prevent it from falling.
