We provide strongboy hire nationwide, for next day delivery. Strongboys (also known as acro prop head supports, or masonry supports) are designed to provide adjustable, temporary support when working on brickwork, openings and structural walls while fitting lintels, RSJ’s or beams, or windows. 

This ensures that your project stays structurally sound, eliminating the risk of wall collapse and other accidents. Strongboys are simple-to-use attachments which fix securely onto an acrow prop (builders prop) and can be used either from the inside or outside.

Because they fit between courses, you don’t have to damage the brickwork above. Just drill though the existing mortar and rake it out, or remove a brick beneath the level you wish to work at and slot the strongboy support into the brickwork. Lock the prop into position underneath it and you’re ready to start. The prop and Strongboy should remain in place until you have completed the work and you are certain that the wall is self-supporting. They have an ergonomic handle for easy carrying.

Strongboy Hire vs, Prop Pals. What’s the difference? 

Both provide temporary support, but they work in different ways. Strongboys are less costly and ideal when access is not an issue, and the prop can be placed directly against the wall. They work by slotting into the top of an acrow prop and must be placed close to the wall which can cause an obstruction. 

Prop Pals are a more modern alternative, they are a steel needle system that slots through an aperture the size of a metric brick, allowing props to be positioned away from the wall. This frees up space, which is especially useful in a domestic extension or renovation where space is limited.
